The Software. I wanted a Front End Software that worked well with Touch Screen Technology, allowing me to show each game as an Icon that can be touched to start the game. After much research and testing, I found that Launch Box was exactly what I was looking for.
The Emulation. So you can't play anything until you learn all about emulation. There are a lot of emulators out there to chose from so it's a lot of trial and error until you find out what works best for you.
For the Classic Arcade games I use MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator).

The Icons. I started using the default images that came with Launchbox, but that was just the game names. I wanted something larger that better defined the games and made the screen more attractive. I couldn't find anything that I liked, so I designed my own.
Launch Box.
LaunchBox was originally built as an attractive frontend to DOSBox, but has since expanded to support both modern PC games and emulated console platforms. LaunchBox aims to be the one-stop shop for gaming on your computer, for both modern and historical games.
The MAME program however isn't the easiest to use or the best looking either. So that's why I worked so hard to find a front end program and decided to go with Launchbox.
